All of the major US sports are gaining fans, NFL, NBA, and even NASCAR, baseball though is losing fans. What have the NBA and the NFL and NASCAR all done? They have started to have exhibition and even regular season contests outside of the US. Maybe the MLB is grasping at straws to show that it is still viable as a major sport in America and doesn't want to end up as a small market sport like the NHL. Just an idea. I pretty much feel the same way you do about this, and I think I can see where it comes from.
